Pozzato Quarry is located 27 km from Banja Luka, on Banja Luka – Prnjavor Trunk Road. The process of production of broken eruptive stone starts with its detection, through transport to crushing and sorting plant, grinding and sorting by fractions of 0-31 mm, and up to 60 mm if necessary.

The capacity of production of diabase is 80 m3/h. The Pozzato Quarry meets all the requirements of  ISO 9001 standards.

HISTORY OF THE QUARRY

As part of its main activity, ”Niskogradnja’’ d.o.o. Laktaši carried out research of technical construction stone-diabase in the field of Drugovići which is located in the area of Laktaši Municipality. In order for the company to have successful operation, safe raw material base of technical construction stone should be provided. Researching the Drugovići field started in 2001, with the development of Design of Detailed Geologic Research and was completed in February next year.

The results obtained in research were presented in the Analysis of Classification, Categorization and Calculation of Reserves of Technical Construction Stone-Diabase. The Decision confirming geological reserves and the quality of diabase from the concerned field was issued by the Republic of Srpska Ministry of Energy and Mining.

By this Decision, the use of the pit, of separation and the whole equipment was approved, with the planned economic life of diabase exploitation of 14 years. Niskogradnja invests significant resources in researching the field of this quality stone, all to the end of extension of the exploitation period.

DESCRIPTION OF MINERAL MATERIAL

Diabase appears as intrusive and effusive magmatic rocks of porphyry and ophitic structure. The colour of diabase varies from dark grey to black and, there are also diabase of dark green colour, which depends on strict presence of certain minerals.
